Conflict Management

Every day is a story to be experienced by everyone and in different ways with different outcomes. For the past few weeks, I have learnt tools and methods of dealing with situations which affect us everyday whether it be at work, school or with your family. There are different ways to resolve conflicts. Everyone has different ways of communicating. Nothing in life goes smoothly as planned and we have to learn how to cope and manage events. Let us talk about group projects. When there is conflict within the group it is best to talk it out and see how to resolve it instead of being at each other's throats. A good group is one where everyone's opinion is validated no matter how good or bad it is. Putting aside our differences and looking at the big picture to get things done is one way to avoid conflict. The group has to come to a consensus before moving on because any sort of conflict does affect the progress.

Appealing to another member through to another member varies according to the relationship between the two of them. This does not always apply to ever situation as sometimes being direct and breaking down the conflict bit by bit does solve disputes.

During a conflict, it is best to first take a step back from the picture, second put yourself in the person's situation, third think of various ways on how to resolve it in a reasonable fashion.
